The Forum for Adult Learning NI (FALNI), for which the WEA acts as secretariat, is delighted to 'publish' a research report into adult and community learning in Northern Ireland commissioned from Dr Helen McLaughlin. This high quality report brings together existing pieces of research into the value of adult and community learning in a comprehensive, useable and readable document which will assist FALNI in composing and strengthening its lobbying messages. Research into adult and community learning in Northern Ireland sadly lags behind that produced for Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland and while many parallels can be drawn FALNI is keenly aware of the need for the collation of existing data and the commissioning of new research. If anyone has other pieces of research that would be relevant we would be extremely grateful if you could forward these to FALNI via the WEA.
