Learner Access & Engagement

The Northern Regional College (NRC) and the Workers’ Educational Association (WEA) are offering a new initiative in community learning called “Learner Access and Engagement”. The primary purpose of the initiative is to get people who are not in work and have a low level of educational attainment back into learning.

 This provision is available for groups of 10-12 learners who fit the following criteria:

  • Not in work
  • Not involved in a similar government initiative e.g. New Deal or Steps to work
  • be over 19
  • Not be on a NRC course already
  • Not be in possession of a level 2 qualification or above.

 A range of course son offer include: IT skills, Creative Crafts, Nail Art, Facial Skin Care, Mixed Crafts, Employment Skills, etc
