The WEA is delighted to announce that it has won two Peace III contracts from the CAN Partnership (Carrickfergus, Antrim and Newtownabbey) addressing history and leadership. The WEA is embarking on the delivery of two contracts from the CAN Peace III Partnership that will run between now and the autumn of 2013. The first is entitled Shared History and will work with 12 groups from across the cluster area to facilitate their learning and exploration of local history, often seeing where much of this is shared across the main traditions. Each of the groups will be supported to produce a dvd at the end of their time with the programme that will allow wider sharing of their learning and a legacy beyond the end of Peace III. The second contract will be delivered in partnership with Mediation NI and the Interaction Institute for Social Change and is entitled Leadership and Learning. There will be 30 participants evenly divided across the three council areas - 9 councillors, 9 council workers and 12 community representatives. The programme consists of 12 learning sessions and a study visit to Serbia/Croatia. Recruitment is currently active and information and application forms can be downloaded from www.canpeace3.org or by emailing carol.aitken@wea-ni.com
