Praxis and the Cookie Company celebrated ten years of wonderful project activity today at Richmond Hall in Derry/Londonderry. As part of the celebrations, a drama group under the Learning Age Project performed their own unique take on the fairy story Cinderella.

The Praxis Drama group began last September with WEA facilitator Mary Duddy. They performed a wonderful piece based on their own memories before Christmas as part of Praxis' Christmas Fair.

Now much in demand, Mary has been working with them to develop their second performance "Cinderella", but this is not Cinderella as you know it. For instance there were five ugly sisters, including our own fair Mary, all named after vegetables!

But as in the original version poor Cinderella is over-worked and under-valued. However she does go to the ball with the aid of her fairy Godmother. All is well as Cinderella slips on her red velvet shoes and marries the handsome prince. So all's well that ends well.

One of the group, Michael, is very keen to have their next performance based on Dr Who. Oh dear Mary will have some research to do over the summer as she is not so familiar with this popular TV character. So look out for more from Praxis - who knows, anything can happen in outer space.

Congratulations from WEA to Praxis and the Cookie Company on their 10th Anniversary.
