This morning saw the launch of the “MOMA Belfast” exhibition in the Ulster Museum which is a stunning new exhibition which comprises of digital murals and creative collages illustrating future visions of the city from the perspectives of citizens from interface communities in Belfast. Aptly named MOMA: Murals on Museum Activity.

This work is a result of a project delivered in partnership with the Workers’ Educational Association, the Ulster Museum and three community centres across Belfast.

The project involved participants from Ballynafeigh Community Development Association, the Vine Centre and Forthspring Intercommunity Group and took place with the support of the Ulster Museum.

MOMA ran as part of Belfast City Council’s Creative Legacies programme, and was funded by the European Regional Development Fund under the Peace III programme.

The art pieces are on view in the Belfast Room in the Ulster Museum from the Tuesday 12 to Sunday 17 October. In addition to this, on the evening of Friday 15 October, a celebratory event will show the projection of digital murals on to the façade of the Ulster Museum and a presentation on the production of the work.

Both of these events are FREE and open to the public. Please RSVP Carole Kane on This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or tel: 02890 329718.
